Bath at Work museum is a treasure house of archaic Victorian machinery, fizzy pop manufacturing and bottling equipment, stone quarrying plant and an array of other relics from Bath’s industrial past.
In this workshop you will work in the museum with artist Duncan Harper to produce your own drawings of objects and settings that capture your imagination, creating a personal response to their weird and wonderful shapes, textures and colours. We will start by making exploratory drawings and continue to work on or develop them using a range of mark making materials.
This will be a very relaxed 2½ hour workshop, suitable for those who have some confidence in their skills, 16 years old and above. It could contribute to an “A” level portfolio.
What to bring: Participants will wish to bring their own personal range of drawing materials. A suitable list could include:
cartridge paper pad (minimum A4)
concertina sketchbook
drawing board to rest on
a variety of drawing media such as: pencils 2B-4B graphite/colour/water soluble, eraser, sharpener, fine-line drawing pens (0.3-0.7) black and/or colour ink, portable watercolour/gouache, and brushes
