That was the intermission announcement at the cinema in the 1960s and 1970s, with a slightly faded picture as I remember it (writes Ann Cullis) followed by orange drink Kia-Ora.  For a bit of nostalgia, jump to 4’40” on this compilation for Kia-Ora cinema adverts
Our main exhibition next year will be on the subject of the history of Cinema & Film in Bath, and we want your memories and mementoes for a true local flavour.
We’d love to hear about your recollections of going to see films, especially as a child or teenager – Saturday Morning Pictures, or a big feature film as a treat. What was the first film you saw at the cinema in Bath, and which cinemas did you go to? Do you remember that they used to screen adverts for local businesses? Do you have any cinema-related keepsakes or souvenirs?  Did you work in a Bath cinema? Or as an ‘extra’ on a film filmed in Bath? – we’d love to interview you about what you did.  And did you make your own home movies on Super-8?We are aiming to collect material and do interviews over the autumn and winter, so please do get in touch with Ann Cullis on secretary@museumofbath.org and also if you have ideas for what we could include in the exhibition and the programme of talks and screenings.
