ON NOW (please note, exhibition is closed on Monday afternoons)
9th May – 29th November
We’re celebrating Cinemas, probably the most significant cultural development of the 20th century.
Find out about Bath’s earliest cinemas before the First World War; learn about the people who worked in cinemas – projectionists, usherettes and managers; what was it like to go to the cinema in years gone by and what did people go and see? See the on-location photos of films made in Bath, and listen to the reminiscences of people who worked in our local cinemas. Enjoy the archive material on display and see a real film projector and double-seats from The Palladium, Midsomer Norton. Pose in The Museum Cinema Kiosk and share your photo on social media!
We’ve got a great supporting programme too. Several films at the Museum are on sale now – go to the Events tab, ‘Latest’ and scroll down to see what’s coming soon and get your tickets!
